Dr. Sue Matheson  Previous Superintendent of the Pass Christian School District.
Most of the world only knew Hurricane Katrina hit New Orleans. It hit here in Pass Christian. Pass Christian was wiped off the map.

Thinking Maps have had a tremendous role in achievement. They are a wonderful tool for all students. They are a tool they can use for the rest of their lives. Our students performed at a level 5 and met AYP. This tells you about the strength and quality of our school district.

Dr. Matheson graduated from the University of Southern Mississippi with a B.S., M.Ed., and Ed. D. During her tenure as Superintendent, the district has maintained Level 5 (highest) state accreditation, met NCLB/AYP standards annually, and been recognized as having a National Blue Ribbon High School. Joe Nelson  Pass Christian Middle School Principal

We look at elementary school students for integration into middle school. Students develop a strong foundation by using maps, then they have the opportunity to build upon it. Had to create something from nothing; had to go from ground zero to something.

Mr. Nelson earned his Bachelor of Science in Industrial Technology at Jackson State University, Jackson, MS. in 1990, and Masters of Arts in Education Leadership at University of Southern Miss., Long Beach, MS in 2004. Mr. Nelson was Mississippi Technology Teacher of the Year in 1997 and 2002.

Children go joyfully into learning. Learning is life-long. Thinking Maps use the same processes.

We can’t teach the maps in isolation.  We use every map every day.  The Thinking Maps® go along with state standards... we automatically have a tool for assessment.

Mrs. Ishee earned her B.S. from the University of Tennessee-Martin in English and her M.Ed. in Special Education from the University of Mississippi.
