The National Urban Alliance's (NUA) work is focused on learning and teaching. The NUA's network of consultants are highly skilled and exemplary professionals in the field of education; many of whom have doctoral degrees in education. They come from all areas of the country and provide ongoing professional development activities for teachers to improve classroom instruction. NUA consultants are teachers, administrators and university faculty who promote instructional strategies based upon the latest research on concept and cognitive development, reasoning, thinking, and higher-order comprehension skills. With guidance, assistance and coaching from the NUA consultant, teachers learn how to work together to unleash their knowledge, skills and creativity in a supportive environment.
