Places to start the day's viewing on the world wide web. How about a quick look into the world of space with a new picture everyday at a wonderful NASA site appropriately titled Astronomy Picture of the Day. But there is more - a paragraph of great links about the picture. Great page for kindergarten through twelfth grade a fabulous page for observation and research.

Another place could be with a newspaper. Try the Online Newspapers page at the Internet Public Library (University of Michigan). Great listing of worldwide newspapers by regions. Listing of papers includes the papers language(s) and a link to the paper. Wonderful to see different takes on current world news by various countries. For more media links including radio and magazines go to the media page.

Working with my designer Helen on new icons for the eggplant homepage. They will be replacing the words on the left side with the icon and a word when you roll over the image with the mouse. You can click on them to go to the pages they represent. What do you think? Your critique is appreciated! The rest should be finished in a couple of days.

Thinking worldwide newspapers brings up media literacy. Had put together some webpages on media literacy - with lots of links - a while back. Time to revisit and expand upon. Any opinions on are welcome.
